Quantities per item and per location, so “do we have it, and where” is one look rather than a walk round the stores.
Every change is a movement
Stock changes only through a recorded receipt, issue, transfer or adjustment, so any quantity can be traced back to the entries that produced it.
Reorder points that warn early
Each item carries its own minimum. Falling below it alerts the person who orders — before the shelf is empty, not after.
