Limits
- CSV files up to 8 MB and 5,000 rows. Split larger files and import them in parts.
- Imported assets count towards your plan's asset limit exactly as ones added by hand do.
1. Map
Upload the file. Columns with familiar headers — tag, serial number, name, category, status, criticality, purchase and commissioning dates, warranty end, cost, currency, notes — are matched automatically. Check the suggestions, map anything left over to one of your custom fields, and leave columns you do not need unmapped. Every row needs an asset tag.
2. Dry run
The dry run shows exactly what would be created and lists every row it cannot accept, with the reason. Nothing is written. Fix the flagged rows in your spreadsheet and run it again. Technicians can run a dry run.
3. Commit
An admin commits the import. It is recorded as one batch in the import history.
Undoing an import
From the import history, an admin can undo a batch. Every asset that batch created is removed — including ones edited since — so you can fix the mapping and import again cleanly rather than working out which half survived.
