Adding and managing assets

Tags, statuses, criticality, custom fields and saved views — and what happens when you delete one.

Add an asset from the register with Add asset, or in bulk by import. Technicians and above can add and edit; deleting needs an admin.

Tags

The asset tag is the identifier on the label. It is matched exactly — AUT-002 and aut-002 are different tags — so pick one convention and keep to it.

Status

  • Active — in service.
  • In repair — out of service, expected back.
  • In storage — not in use, but kept.
  • Retired — permanently out of service, still on the books.
  • Disposed — gone.

Criticality

Critical, high or routine. Criticality changes how loudly alerts about this asset arrive: anything on a critical asset alerts as critical, and high-criticality assets alert as warnings earlier than routine ones. See "How alerts are scheduled".

Custom fields and saved views

Your pack defines custom fields for your sector; they appear on the asset form and can be filtered on. Admins can save a filtered register as a view that everyone in the organisation sees.

Deleting and restoring

Deleting an asset hides it rather than destroying it. An admin can restore it, and the event log keeps both actions.
